Lots of people are intimidated by pies, especially the crust. I think it is fairly simple, although it may take a little practice to make a crust just the way you like it. I hope you make a pie soon. Tis the season, after all.

We went on a moonlight paddle this June on Sparks Lake, near Bend, Oregon and got skunked by a huge cloud where the rising moon should have been. Then we realized that on a now "moonless" night, our headlamps weren't able to do more than light the way across a few feet of the endless acres of lake under our boards. The shore was quickly becoming one black shape so we paddled in ASAP. We love SUP paddling flatwater because there are so many fun things to do no matter what your paddling ability. Congrats for getting out there even though you were a novice.
We have a on-line store www.StandUpPaddleFlatwater.com and a blog http://standuppaddle.blogspot.com/ devoted to our paddling adventures. Check us out -- we are flat water specialists and sell SUP gear anywhere in the country.
Aloha,
Randall

This sounds too good to be true, Beagle. Well...I might do without the skunk, but the rest makes me sigh deeply just thinking about it. I was on a dock overlooking the lake on the full moon night, thinking about how much I wished to be in a canoe. But paddle boarding... now, that's an added adventure, to be sure!!

Maybe I'm just used to the old color, but I did prefer it. This blue is just too drab...

Sounds delicious. Thanks for your nice comment at my blog. I am responding from the Stowe Free Library because my crumbling laptop seems to have now crumbled irretrievably. I'll be back to read more when I have a new set up.

Hi just a little note to your Dementia notice. For one it really doesn't matter what you do with your brain because if you have the gene for it, it will happen. Yes, lots of memory practicing, puzzles, etc., can give you a little longer to hold off this terrible disease. I know Teachers, Physical Therapists, and one special doctor that are now in the process of dementia. I too am working as you in training my mind to remember, learn new things, people, songs, stories; which I read almost daily. Watch all of the history channels, yet I read only factual information. So far no one in the history of my family had either Altz. or Dementia. But from what I have encountered in my lifetime of 74 years, it doesn't matter what you read, study, travel, if you have the Gene, again I repeat, you may or will get it. Hopefully, science will prevail, not in my time but hopefully yours, for a gene/cell replacement/removal for this disease. At this time I have started on the dictionary, learning what the word means, where it comes from, and how to use it in at least 5 different ways. Take care and keep up the work. Thks for your family story. R.f. Murchison
